Literary Giants Among Us

jon nikolai carlson …first steps

Please enjoy the beginning of my new journey into  this digital world of commentary, understanding, spiritual awakening and self-discovery. We can stand on the shoulders of giants, allowing their words to awaken our spirit to the endless possibilities of the universe. Some of those giants walk with us generation upon generation.

Random Thoughts of the Day

Life begins long before we take our first steps. Long before we are able to recall the early moments from the deepest reaches of our memories, we were learning, growing, loving and playing. It is our life path to do the same each day…to learn, increase our knowledge, absorb wisdom from those who have traveled before, to love a second or third or fourteenth time, if we are so fortunate.

Of all of the attributes that we can bring forth from our earliest days, it is our joyful spirit and wide-eyed wonder as though each new experience brings endless possibilities and hope for connection. It is this treasure that we must guard most carefully.

A treasured journey to all…

Many thanks to the literary giants who came before and walk among us today.

“Just trust yourself, then you will know how to live.” – Goethe

“There is far more opportunity than there is ability. “ – Thomas A. Edison

Most people are afraid to take action. Sure, they have ideas, but they don’t do anything about it. It’s scary to go down that path, which is why so few do. In the end, you have to determine what kind of life you want to live: one of mediocrity, or one of greatness?

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought.” – Buddha

Your thought patterns and beliefs determine your life. If you are not happy with where you are, take a look at what beliefs are holding you back from having the life you want.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle

Don’t look at successful people and feel like you are not enough. You are comparing yourself to someone who has worked hard at perfecting his craft. All you can do is start. If you want to get good at something, go do it.

“Fall seven times, Stand up eight.” – Japanese Proverb

“The path to success is to take massive, determined action.” – Tony Robbins

Take action. Take Action. Take action. I can’t say it enough. If you want something, you have to take action. Plan, learn and absorb as much as you want, but without action, you will never get to where you want to be.

“Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. “ – Thomas A. Edison
